Kindergarten Round-Up is a drop-in enrollment activity for parents and their future kindergartners (children who will turn 5 on or before Aug. 31). Parents should bring a certified copy of the child’s birth certificate, or any document which reasonably establishes the child’s age and can be used as temporary proof of identity. State law governs the age at which a child may enter kindergarten or first grade, and the district cannot deviate from the law.
In addition to the birth certificate, parents should bring:
*proof of residency such as a utility bill
*information about the child’s immunizations and inoculations
I'm excited to see who will be going on a limo ride to eat pizza with me! (The limo ride is usually at the end of February or early March.)

Poppy is a cardiologist and PAWS is a PE teacher!
From the District: A huge THANK YOU to all buildings for your participation in the Mayor’s Christmas Tree Pennies for Shoes collection! You have extremely generous communities who will make an immediate difference for the children in Olathe. The district raised $26,479.32 to help fund shoes for our students!
Ravenwood families donated $1223.42 towards the campaign. Thank you!
The Peer Program provides an opportunity for typically developing children to be integrated into our Early Childhood Special Education classrooms to serve as role models for children with special needs.
A Peer student must live in the boundaries of the Olathe School District and demonstrate age-appropriate skills in the areas of play, social, behavior, speech, language, and motor. Additionally, all peers must be independent with toileting and speak English fluently. Children must be at least three years old before attending, and not be age-eligible to attend kindergarten.
We have a limited number of slots available for Peers. We will be accepting applications from January 7, 2019, through February 1, 2019, for the 2019-2020 school year. Applications will not be available before January 7, 2019.
To request an application, please visit the Olathe Public Schools website and look for the Early Childhood link under the “Academics” tab. If you have any difficulty using the online application, please contact Shannon Leeds at (913) 780-7341.
