You are invited to join the Johnson County Suicide Prevention Coalition for a free showing of a documentary, titled The S Word on October 5th from 6-10pm at Olathe West High School.
The most dangerous word is...Silence. The word suicide brings conversations to a halt and evokes primal fears of the darkest of all human experiences. Speaking the word itself is not the problem, it's the silence that so often follows. The S Word will put a human face on this often feared and misunderstood topic-delving into the hearts and minds of suicide attempt survivors, along with the families and loved ones who are left behind to suffer the anguish, guilt and confusion of a death by suicide.
The S Word amplifies the voices of those living through suicide attempts and loss. Following the screening, the director of the documentary will hold a Q&A session. This event is open to anyone in the community and is free to attendees. Sponsored by the Johnson County Suicide Prevention Coalition. Please note the documentary is intended for a mature audience.
